Jack Brewer
Jack Brewer was born in Fort Worth, TX, and raised by Rosa and Eddie Brewer. Unfortunately, Brewer faced racial tension in his teenage years; however, he rose above adversity and used that as motivation to start his advocacy for racial inclusion, equality, and the rights of the poor. He attended Grapevine High School where he graduated with a 3.9 GPA, and was an All-State athlete and record setter in football and track. Brewer was the first person in his family to graduate from college, starting at Southern Methodist University (SMU) then transferring to the University of Minnesota. He excelled both academically and athletically, earning several honors including Academic All-Big Ten, Carl Eller Defensive MVP Award, Paul Giel Award, First Team All-Big Ten by Media, and All-Big Ten in Track and Field. He was also team captain on the football team and earned his Master’s Degree in Sport Management at the age of 22. An entrepreneur by nature, Brewer successfully balanced his full academic load and college sports with running his own marketing and event management business, which he started at the age of 19. He currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Baber received his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University in the City of New York. After graduating from Chicago Medical School, Dr. Baber completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Baber then went on to complete his fellowship in Pain Medicine from The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
