On a new episode of “The Jess Cagle Show with Julia Cunningham” on Radio Andy, Anna Kendrick spoke about her directorial debut, “Woman of the Hour,” and filming the sequel to the 2018 thriller/comedy “A Simple Favor.”

“I could not possibly get inside the magic that makes those movies work,” Anna said about the director of the two films, Paul Feig. “Believe me. Every day on the first one, on the second one, I’m going, ‘Paul, does this make sense? Is this okay?’ Because, I’m sorry, those movies are insane. So I’m very glad that I’m not responsible for that, because he’s got that magic mind that makes it all work in spite of the fact that none of it should work. So, very grateful that Paul is around and wanted to do the second one.”

The official description of the sequel to “A Simple Favor” says the movie “follows Stephanie Smothers [Anna Kendrick] and Emily Nelson [Blake Lively] as they head to the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman.” It’s due out in 2025.

Anna added, “You’re in for a treat because the second [movie] really ups the ante. I can promise you that.”

“The Jess Cagle Show with Julia Cunningham” airs Monday through Friday at 2pm ET on Radio Andy (Ch. 102) and anytime on the SiriusXM app.
