Ashley Flowers Talks to Kelly Ripa About the Karen Read Trial: ‘It’s So Wild’
“I think that they presented enough evidence at trial to make that a question that leads to reasonable doubt,” Ashley said.
On today’s episode of SiriusXM’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” podcast, “Crime Junkie AF” host Ashley Flowers gave her take on the Karen Read murder trial.
“So what’s your gut instinct?” Kelly asked Ashley. “Do you allegedly believe that allegedly this cop [John O’Keefe] died within that house and was tossed outside, and then [Karen] was set up to take the fall?”
“I think that they presented enough evidence at trial to make that a question that leads to reasonable doubt,” Ashley said. “So the people who own that house — it’s so wild. He was born and raised in that home, Brian Albert, who owned the house. And after this incident, he ends up selling it. I mean, raised as a child in that home. He bought it from his parents. He ends up selling the home.”
She continued, “Part of the theory is that they had a dog, and John O’Keefe has these marks on his arm that, even though he got hit by a car, they’re saying it looks like dog bites. There was someone who even testified that at trial. And they get rid of their family dog after this?”
Ashley then added, “So there’s some just strange things and, you know, the thing I can’t say is why … But everyone was trashed, and I don’t think you make rational decisions when you’re trashed.”
“And then they don’t make good witnesses when they’re not trashed,” Kelly said.
“Well, and they’re just bad witnesses,” Ashley said. “You can tell who was at the house that night and who wasn’t just by them being on the stand, because if you were at the house that night, you can’t recall shit, and everyone else seemed to be able to have a decent memory.”
