If you’ve been virtually anywhere online this past year — especially TikTok — you’re probably familiar with Dixie D’Amelio. The 20-year-old social media personality and singer has amassed 55.5 million followers and 3.1 billion likes with her viral TikToks. But that’s not all — D’Amelio has also turned her internet stardom into a singing career, starting with her single “Be Happy” in June 2020, which has since been streamed millions of times across various platforms and received over 2 billion plays on TikTok.

D’Amelio also hosts her own YouTube series, The Early Late Show, and stars alongside her sister, Charli D’Amelio, in the Hulu docuseries The D’Amelio Show. In light of Dixie’s meteoric rise, we caught up with her for the premiere episode of Vision Boarding, a conversational series where rising artists look back at where they’ve been and map out where they hope to go in the future, based on the TikTok-approved concepts of mood boards and manifesting. Read some highlights of the conversation below and hear the rest (including her most memorable video-shoot moment, what magazine cover she’d love to be on, and more) here.

How was it hearing your song on SiriusXM for the first time?

Dixie D’Amelio: It was insane. I was with my friends, it was just such a nice moment, I was smiling— I really just can’t explain that moment; i was very weird, but awesome and I loved it.

Who have you collaborated with?

DD: So far, I’ve collaborated with blackbear, Lil Mosey, Wiz Khalifa, Liam Payne, and Dillion Francis.

What was it like going viral for the first time?

DD: Going viral for the first time was a crazy experience and I’m pretty sure I read every comment on the first video that ever went viral of mine and I was just so confused. But it was a fun feeling; it’s hard to explain, but it was really cool.

In the next 1 to 3 years, I want to collaborate with ____

DD: Lil Uzi [Vert], even if it’s not on a song; we could take a picture, I could just tell him “hi,” I’m his biggest fan.

I want to accomplish ____ in the future

DD: Everything I can; I don’t have a specific path that I’m taking, I’m just trying to be the best I can.
