The wide receiver position headlined the top 100 as 45 wideouts cracked the list with Pittsburgh Steeler, Antonio Brown, coming in as the No. 1 overall player.
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott tops all rookies in the top 100 with a ranking of eight, which is fourth at his position.
Former NFL wide receiver and majority owner of the analytical website Pro Football Focus Cris Collinsworth joined SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio’s coverage of the Fantasy Sports Trade Association experts draft and says he is confident in taking the Cowboys rookie in the first round in drafts.
“One thousand percent. He’s the one guy that I have watched at the running back position coming out of the draft in the last couple of years that can do all three (run well, be effective as a pass catcher and can pass block). He won’t have to come off the field in any situation and he’s a big play guy. I just believe he’s going to be the workhorse (for the Cowboys), I really do believe it.
Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders comes in as the 57th ranked overall player in the top 100 which is 30th at his position. Despite back-to-back seasons of 1,000 receiving yards and at least 76 catches, the departures of quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler has limited the expectations for Sanders heading into the season.
Speaking to Kyle Elfrink and Ray Flowers on The SiriusXM Fantasy Drive, Sanders talked about the quarterbacks that will be competing in training camp to earn the right to be the starter for the defending champions.
“(First round draft pick Paxton Lynch) has a big strong arm, but he’s still young. He doesn’t know the offense. Mark (Sanchez) is like the old savvy vet. He can still make every throw and he’s very smart. He wants the job really bad. The guy that no one is talking about is Trevor Siemian. Siemian has been a year in this system. He’s learned a lot from Peyton. He can make every throw. I think we have three solid quarterbacks right now going into camp who are going to compete for a job and we’ll see who wins.”
One of the top debates heading into the season will be where to draft Tennessee Titans running back DeMarco Murray. After dominating for the Cowboys in 2014, the veteran moved on to the Philadelphia Eagles last season and struggled.
Many believed he could rebound in 2016 and have a huge season after landing with the Titans, but the AFC South team drafted Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry in the second round of the NFL Draft.
Due to the complications of not knowing who will be the main ball carrier in Tennessee, Murray’s ranking in the top 100 is at 44 which is the 17th running back on the list.
Flowers gave his thoughts on the topic and agrees with the current ranking for Murray as the draft pick of Henry hurts Murray’s value in a big way.
“Murray is going to be ahead of Henry to start, but I can’t envision Murray, even if he has success, carrying the ball 20 times a week. Plus, the offensive coordinator is saying they could go with the hot hand at the running back spot which makes it worse.”
