In SiriusXM’s LA Studios, Radio Andy (Ch. 102) host Bevy Smith sat down with the cast of “The Deliverance,” including Glenn Close, Mo’Nique, Andra Day, Demi Singleton, and director Lee Daniels. During the interview, Glenn revealed she wished that her character, Alberta, had a sex scene with Omar Epps’ character, Melvin, in the new supernatural horror movie.

“It was the one regret I had in the film, that they didn’t have a sex scene and that the kids didn’t walk in on them,” Glenn said.

Bevy Smith: Alberta is very juicy.

Glenn Close: She’s sexy and she’s still sexual and she loves, you know, she loves men and she’s not had a great history with men.

Bevy Smith: Yes. She doesn’t have a great history with men, but she does have a beau, Melvin, who’s wonderfully played by Omar Epps. I wish we had seen, I wanted to see a sex scene between you guys, but that’s something-

Glenn Close: I’ll tell you, this went through my head and I don’t know if I’ve ever-

Mo’Nique: She see it too.

Lee Daniels: Can I tell you something? Can I tell you something? Almost. Almost, and then I just said, and this is the, whenever I don’t listen to the spirit, it leads me wrong because I really wanted that. It was the one regret I had in the film, that they didn’t have a sex scene and that the kids didn’t walk in on them.

Glenn Close: But the thing is, this went through my head. This went through my head when he kissed me. He kind of like pecked me and I thought, “I want some more. What is this?” You know? Going out the door. I thought, and you didn’t even say, “Let’s do another take.”

Lee Daniels: Well, you know why? Because, I’m being honest with you, it was the one time that I had to respect, it was an awkward moment for, ’cause I said, you know, “It’s Glenn Close,” and I went out and I didn’t listen to the spirit. When I don’t listen to the spirit, that’s what happens because I want to retake it, but he did, you know what I mean? But also, I felt like in my head, I justified it by Omar being very respectful.

Glenn Close: Oh no. He was so sweet.

Lee Daniels: You know, he was respectful. “Let me give her a kiss.” You know, as opposed to throw that bitch up against the wall, throw that bitch up against the wall and knock her out.

Glenn Close: You know what? If he was here, I’d demonstrate the kiss.

Bevy Smith: Well, you know what? We do have a premier, so we can maybe get that on the red carpet perhaps. Right? We must.
