Hear how LaKeith Stanfield, Daniel Kaluuya & more brought Fred Hampton’s story to life
The cast and directors of ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’ will join hosts Sway Calloway, Heather B., and Tracy G. to discuss the film and answer subscriber questions.
During a month dedicated to highlighting and honoring notable moments in Black history, the new movie Judas and the Black Messiah, depicting the story of former Black Panther Party of Chicago chairman Fred Hampton, is being released in the US. In honor of the film, Sway Calloway, Heather B., and Tracy G. will host an illuminating SiriusXM Town Hall with the cast on February 12 at 10:30am ET on Shade 45 (Ch. 45).
During the Town Hall, LaKeith Stanfield, Daniel Kaluuya, Jesse Plemons, Dominique Fishback, and director Shaka King will share candid stories behind the making of the film while also fielding questions from SiriusXM subscribers (virtually) in attendance. After its premiere, the special will broadcast again on February 14 at 9pm ET.
The biopic — which debuted at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival earlier this month and is scheduled to simultaneously hit theaters and HBO Max this Friday — features Kaluuya as Fred Hampton and Stanfield as William O’Neal, an FBI informant who infiltrates the Party, as well as Plemons, Fishback, and more (casted with the blessing of Hampton’s family). Kaluuya has received a Best Supporting Actor nomination at both the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards for his portrayal of Hampton.
