Jesse Tyler Ferguson shined bright like a diamond when he tied the knot with husband Justin Mikita in 2013.

On this week’s My Favorite Song with John Benjamin Hickey, the Modern Family star explained why the couple danced to a Rih Rih cover on their special night.

“Justin found this really paired down version, you probably don’t have it, of Rihanna’s Diamonds,” said Ferguson, 40. “I don’t know who the artist was, but we had our friend Shoshanna Bean, who is a brilliant singer, sing that version of it, and the lyrics of it are just so beautiful.”

But the actor chose a classic for his favorite love song: Elvis Presley’s I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You.

“The reason why I love this song so much, and I think about Justin, my husband, when I listen to it, is I felt like I loved him immediately when I saw him,” he said. “You think that that’s the wrong thing, you’re like, ‘Oh no, I have to give this more time and it has to really develop and I have to nurture this, I can’t jump right into it.’ But it’s exactly this, I can’t help falling in love with you.”

“It was a love at first sight thing?” asked Hickey, 52.

“It absolutely was,” Ferguson said. “Before we even dated, before we even spoke, I was like, ‘Oh my God, who’s that?’ And then we got to know one another.”
