Indiana Pacers president Larry Bird is stepping down from his post just days after submitting Indiana’s bid to host an All-Star Game by driving an IndyCar to the NBA headquarters in New York.
With his exit, SiriusXM NBA Radio questions what Bird’s resignation means for the team. Also, what it means for star Paul George, who has bee rumored to be on his way out since before their first-round playoff series loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
“This could be the first domino that leads to Indiana going into a full rebuild,” Brendan Haywood said on Off the Dribble. “If Paul George isn’t sure that there’s proper management in place, he’ll definitely, probably bolt.”
