Away: Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The Fighting Irish, ranked 11th, have a promising season ahead. Running back Gi’Bran Payne has emerged as a third-down specialist, securing the team’s confidence with six critical third-down conversions.

On the receiving end, tight end Mitchell Evans made a triumphant return from a concussion protocol absence, amassing a career-high seven catches for 75 yards against Ohio State last week.

Meanwhile, defensive end Javontae Jean-Baptiste, a transfer from Ohio State, showcased his prowess against his former team with eight tackles, two third-down stops, and more. With 23 tackles this season, he is a force to be reckoned with.

The Notre Dame quarterback, Sam Hartman, is a record-breaker, having thrown a staggering 91 touchdown passes since 2021, more than any Power 5 quarterback. He’s currently leading the FBS with 14 touchdown passes and zero interceptions this season, a remarkable feat.

Notably, he’s been a fourth-quarter sensation with a 13-18 passing record for 161 yards and five touchdowns. Hartman’s performance is setting records, surpassing even Jimmy Clausen‘s legendary streak in Notre Dame history.

Home: Duke Blue Devils

Duke, on the other hand, is a force to be reckoned with this season. Jordan Waters, leads the team with 39 rushes, amassing 258 yards and seven touchdowns. Last season, the team set a program record with 31 rushing scores, led by a quartet of players. In 2023, they have already notched 15 rushing scores, ranking second nationally.

QB Riley Leonard is a standout performer with an impressive Pro Football Focus offensive grade of 91.2. He’s also excelling in passing and running, ranking seventh and second nationally, respectively. His debut year as Duke’s starter earned him honorable mention All-ACC honors, and he continues to shine this season.

Duke’s receiving corps is thriving, out-gaining their opponents by a substantial margin. Led by WR Jalon Calhoun and WR Jordan Moore, this group is making big plays down the field, both averaging over 12.3 yards per catch.

Defensively, CB Chandler Rivers is making his presence felt. Earning honorable mention Freshman All-America honors last year, Rivers leads the team in tackles this season, demonstrating his growth and impact.
