On a night when seemingly everyone in a Los Angeles Rams uniform was scoring touchdowns, there was one member of their offense who actually managed to separate himself from his teammates.

Gerald Everett caught two touchdown passes, and his second, on which he walked a virtual tight rope along the sidelines to get to the end zone with 1:49 left, gave the Rams the decisive points in their 54-51 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs Monday night.

‘To see the heart and fight in this team, to battle another great team, to see the outcome …’

“It’s fun to be a part of a team like this, man, play with great players all around,” Everett told Bill Lekas on Late Hits Postgame. “And I can’t say enough about the coaches as well. But to see the heart and fight in this team, to battle another great team, to see the outcome …”

On the winning play, Everett simply placed his faith in quarterback Jared Goff, who threw for 413 yards and four touchdowns.

‘I just tried to come through for my teammates’

“Having a great guy at quarterback like Jared Goff, just trusting in him and just doing my assignment and I looked up and the ball’s in the air,” Everett said. “I just tried to come through for my teammates.”

With so much back-and-forth action, did the Rams feel pressure to score on every possession?

‘We want to play Rams football and be the best version of ourselves’

“I mean, that’s our goal, regardless, if we’re playing the team that scores every drive or not,” Everett said. “We want to play Rams football and be the best version of ourselves. We work hard every day, so you just saw everything come to fruition against a great team.”
