Met Opera Radio (Ch. 75) honors legendary soprano Montserrat Caballé with a week-long tribute showcasing her incomparable artistry. Caballé passed away October 6 at age 85. She sang in nearly 100 performances at the Met since her 1965 debut.
A singer celebrated for her impeccable technique and remarkable versatility, Caballé appeared in 15 roles with The Metropolitan Opera, including Desdemona in Otello, Elena in I Vespri Siciliani and the title characters of Luisa Miller, Norma and Adriana Lecouvreur.
