Sometimes all it takes to inspire a new tune is an old one.
Moby, who has co-written, produced, and remixed songs for countless artists in addition to making his own music, sat down with longtime friend Lori Majewski on SiriusXM’s 1st Wave (Ch. 33)’s Lust for Lists, where he recalled finding out the unexpected origins of David Bowie’s hit song Heroes.
He then spoke about another one of his influences, Depeche Mode, whose concert he epically snuck into underage by confusing the doorman.
“I took an empty can of Heineken out of the garbage and spent the entire night walking around holding this empty can of Heineken so people would think I was cool,” the electro singer/songwriter said.
