Andy Cohen Elaborates on Monica Garcia’s ‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ Exit
Monica Garcia won’t return for the next season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City – and Andy Cohen discussed Bravo’s decision during his SiriusXM show. Listen to the full episode on the SiriusXM app now. While on air with John Hill, Andy explained that the other cast RHOSLC members “did not trust” Garcia, 40, a breakout star during season 4. Garcia is taking a break from the show after the bombshell revelation that she was behind the Instagram troll account Reality Von Tease, which for years has been targeting RHOSLC cast members.
“We all discussed it ad nauseam that it would best to kind of let this one breathe for a while,” Andy said during the January 24 edition of Andy Cohen Live. “[Monica’s] obviously really compelling television. Maybe she’ll be able to build some inroads with some of the women on her own, off camera.
The first Latina to join the RHOSLC, Garcia has become a fan favorite on the show. The news of her departure came hours before the airing of the third and final part of the RHOSLC reunion.
“Monica, I think, had the opportunity not only to explain herself to the audience, but way more importantly in this case, to the other women,” Andy said. “And I dont think she successfully swayed any of them to her side. She didn’t.”
RHOSLC is set to start filming its fifth season next month.
