A decade in the waiting, Nipsey Hussle’s release of Victory Lap is the much-anticipated, major-label-debut for his extremely loyal fan base he’s cultivated over the years.
The Los Angeles MC dropped by the SiriusXM studios in New York on SiriusXM’s Shade 45 (Ch. 45) to talk Victory Lap and the other projects he has in the works.
Victory Lap’s tracks have a gangland tone, stemming from his arduous life spent on the streets. With an almost completed album, he went to Diddy for additional feedback on making this highly-anticipated album near perfect. The industry icon then collaborated on the album’s track, Young N*****.
“We got back in the studio…we just vibed for like two weeks,” Nipsey said during the interview.
When asked by hosts Torae and Gray Rizzy on what else the MC has been up to, he replied, “We’ve recently opened up an inner city co-work space.” He continued explaining he has partnered with Vector90 and the District 8 Los Angeles City Council to launch a co-working space in Los Angeles. The space is a tech, science, math and engineering center which caters to providing necessary tools which propel younger generations to forge successful careers, network and create with other entrepreneurs.
Vector90 will also house a STEM program for kids that Nipsey has been working on. The MC is eyeing a number of other urban centers to launch the program as well including Atlanta, Washington D.C. and San Diego.
