NSFW: Darryl Strawberry & Doc Gooden may have shared more than a beer together

Former New York Mets superstars Darryl Strawberry and Doc Gooden never did have dinner one-on-one, but having sex with the same woman at the same time?

*SILENCE*

Strawberry joined Morning Men (Mad Dog Sports Radio, ch. 82) on Thursday to promote the newest 30 for 30 documentary, Doc & Darryl. During his interview, Strawberry ran through a list of what he and former Mets ace Dwight “Doc” Gooden had and hadn’t done together during their wild years atop the MLB.

Smoking cigarettes, drinking beer and possibly doing what caused the aforementioned dead air, Strawberry and Gooden were some of the most prominent faces of a Mets team known as much for their partying as for their winning on the field. Strawberry, for his part, was extremely candid about what he did while in the middle of games.

Drinking? “In the clubhouse, yes.”

Smoking? “In the dugout, yes.”

Sex at the ballpark? “In the middle of a game, yeah.”

Hold up, let’s get to the bottom of that last one. Surely this was pre-arranged though, right? He didn’t just pick a woman out of the crowd in the middle of a game.

“It kind of worked out that way. You organize it, point her out,” and then things happened, according to Strawberry.

Strawberry has since become an ordained Christian minister, leaving his wilder days in the past. He told co-hosts Evan Cohen and Mike Babchik that now he would simply love to attend recovery meetings and church with Gooden.

“If ever it’s needed…I’ll be there,” Strawberry said. “I don’t want to invade on anyone’s life. I just want to be there as a friend.”
