SiriusXM honors Fleetwood Mac co-founder Peter Green with moving tributes
Join us as we pay tribute to the late singer-songwriter and blues guitarist with remembrances across SiriusXM channels.
SiriusXM is remembering the life and music of Fleetwood Mac co-founder Peter Green, who died peacefully in his sleep this weekend, according to a family representative. Hear moving tributes to the singer-songwriter and guitarist — as well as his music — on air throughout the day.
Green made a name for himself as a skilled blues guitarist, kicking off his professional career as a member of John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers (ultimately replacing Eric Clapton upon his departure from the band) before moving on to start his own blues band, Fleetwood Mac. During his time with Fleetwood Mac, the musician penned hits such as “Black Magic Woman” (popularized by Santana), “Albatross,” “Oh Well,” and more, and would go on to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a testament to his contributions to the band’s success. After leaving the band in 1970, Green recorded a solo album, The End of the Game, and worked closely with Peter Bardens, Bobby Tench, B.B. King, Nigel Watson, and countless others. Green’s life and legacy also inspired a 2009 BBC documentary, Peter Green: Man of the World.
Join SiriusXM in honoring the influential musician with remembrances on Classic Vinyl (Ch. 26), Deep Tracks (Ch. 27), Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Radio (Ch. 310), The Bridge (Ch. 17), and B.B. King’s Bluesville (Ch. 74).
