Andy Cohen Promises ‘RHONJ’ Finale Will Feel Complete Without Reunion Episode

The finale “feels like the Last Supper, and it is just so ‘Jersey,’ and it’s shocking, and it’s dramatic, and it’s amazing TV,” he reassured fans.

Following the announcement that “Real Housewives of New Jersey” would not have a traditional reunion episode following the conclusion of its 14th season, Andy Cohen called in to “Reality Checked” with Kiki Monique to give more context and “fill in some of the blanks,” he said.

“I think that the main thing is, this will all make sense once you see the finale,” Andy clarified. “It is one of those classic ‘Jersey’ finales that people will be talking about for a long time to come.”

Andy, who has served as executive producer of “RHONJ” since 2009, explained that the show’s producers “all came to the decision” to skip a reunion episode this season because “the finale is kind of the finale and the reunion all in one.”

Because they usually film the reunion episode six weeks before the end of the season airs, Andy said they needed to give the cast a heads up about the taping schedule — or lack thereof — now, which is how their production choice not to have one leaked.

“I hate leaks, as you can imagine … I hope that we can get into a vibe of not leaking,” Andy told Kiki.

In the Season 14 finale, Andy said, “They have this final epic group encounter. It feels like the Last Supper, and it is just so ‘Jersey,’ and it’s shocking, and it’s dramatic, and it’s amazing TV. I’m telling you, when you see it, I think that you’ll feel complete. I really do.”

He also hinted that Bravo is “cooking up” something in place of the reunion episode — but that fans should be patient.

“We’re just kind of focusing on, ‘Okay, if we’re not doing a conventional reunion, what are we doing? And what is something different that we could do?’ … Things take time, and we want to take a minute to figure things out. There’s no point in rushing into something just to rush into something,” Andy said.
