Rep. Steve Cohen: Nancy Pelosi is ‘the most effective leader we’ve had’

Following Democrat Jon Ossoff’s loss in the Georgia 6th District special election, some Democrats have called for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to step down. But Rep. Steve Cohen (D, TN) still has confidence in his party’s leadership. He spoke with SiriusXM P.O.T.U.S.‘s Tim Farley on Thursday.
“She’s a very talented woman who works hard and is focused on helping Democrats and helping this country. And it’s been the most effective and highly positioned woman in this history of this nation sans, I guess, a Supreme Court Justice,” Cohen said.
When asked if Rep. Tim Ryan, a three-term Congressman who challenged Pelosi earlier this year, would be a more effective leader, Cohen doubled-down on his support.
“Right now we’ve got a leader, it’s Nancy Pelosi,” Cohen concluded. “Tim’s a friend of mine. And Nancy Pelosi is our leader and she’s the most effective leader we’ve had.”
