The three-time winner followed his Martinsville victory with a third-place Texas finish. He was able to duck and dodge the many spins to record his fourth consecutive top-10 finish, which has included a pair of trips to Victory Lane along the way.
Last Week: 1st
2. KYLE LARSON
The Hendrick Motorsports driver had the pole and led 77 laps on his way to winning the opening stage. But a loose wheel derailed any hopes for a better finish as Larson could not come back from the two-lap penalty to finish any higher than 21st.
Last Week: 3rd
3. DENNY HAMLIN
The Joe Gibbs Racing driver again had an opportunity for a better finish than what the results show in Texas. He spun out racing hard with Elliott for the lead and was credited with a 30th place finish when the final results were posted.
Last Week: 2nd
4. CHASE ELLIOTT
The 42-race winless drought is over for Elliott after he was able to hold off the field in double overtime Sunday in Texas. The victory was the latest solid outing for Elliott who has not finished outside the top-five in the last three races.
Last Week: 5th
5. BUBBA WALLACE
Texas was pretty good again for Wallace who gathered ten stage points until he spun out near the end of the race. He did have enough speed to get back to seventh to put his average finish after nine race at a career-high 14.3.
Last Week: 7th
6. MARTIN TRUEX JR.
Pit road continued to plague the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 19 squad at Texas and most likely cost Truex Jr. a better finish than his 14th place performance. A pair of loose wheels kept a fast race car from having a more positive Sunday.
Last Week: 4th
7. RYAN BLANEY
To say the defending series champion had a challenging day would be an understatement. Blaney’s 33rd-place finish was another example of some recent disappointments for the Team Penske driver.
Last Week: 6th
8. TYLER REDDICK
The 23XI Racing driver was understandably disappointed after the race when he had the lead in the final stage but a slow pit stop shuffled him back and Reddick could not rebound back to the point but did take the checkered flag fourth.
Last Week:
9. JOEY LOGANO
Not the best day for Logano and the Team Penske No. 22 Ford at Texas. He finished just outside the top-10 with an 11th-place effort but did show signs of speed throughout the afternoon.
Last Week: 10th
10. CHRISTOPHER BELL
The Joe Gibbs Racing driver had speed early and finished second in the opening stage. But then it was another week of challenges as he spun and hit the wall and Stage 2 and did all he could to salvage a 17th-place Texas finish.
