SiriusXM honors reggae icon Toots Hibbert with exclusive specials featuring Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ziggy Marley & more
SiriusXM’s The Joint (Ch. 42) will celebrate reggae founder Toots Hibbert, who passed away on September 11, by broadcasting special programming throughout the day.

SiriusXM’s The Joint (Ch. 42) will honor the life and legacy of reggae founding father Frederick “Toots” Hibbert, who passed away on September 11, by broadcasting special programming throughout this Tuesday.
During The Joint’s Toots Tribute Tuesday on September 29, listeners will hear Hibbert’s music and exclusive SiriusXM interviews from over the years. Specifically, from 9am to 10am, The Joint will air a touching tribute to Hibbert’s music featuring commentary from some of Hibbert’s friends and admirers, including Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ziggy Marley, Bonnie Raitt, Chris Blackwell, Sly Dunbar, Jason Fine, Kate Hyman, Taj Mahal, Leroy Sibbles, Peter Shapiro, Richard Feldman, Zack Starkey, and more.
From 10am to 11am, listeners can catch a rebroadcast of Hibbert’s 2004 special with Pat McKay in which Hibbert discusses his Grammy-winning Toots & The Maytals album from 2004, True Love, and performs three songs from it (“54-46 Was My Number,” “Sweet and Dandy,” and “Love’s Not Gonna Let Me Down”, plus a Toots & The Maytals classic (“Daddy”).
