“We’re celebrating lives because a lot of my friends have passed on in the past month or so and I thought it would be only appropriate to mention them and play some of their music today and let us all celebrate their lives,” Smokey says during the show.

“[Duke Fakir] passed away,” Smokey continued, “and he was such a great artist and a great addition to our roster at Motown being one of the Four Tops. And so we’re going to remember him today. We’re going to remember him and play some Four Tops music.”
