Simone Biles’ Record-Breaking Return
After a two-year break from the sport following the Tokyo Olympics, Simone Biles returned to gymnastics with a bang.
The Olympian took to the mat at the US Gymnastics Championships this weekend with a floor routine that rounded out her all-around total at 118.450, 3.9 points ahead of second place. Biles’ win is her eighth all-around title and breaks the 90-year-old record held by Alfred Jochim, who set it with seven wins in 1933.
It’s been 10 years since Biles’ first all-around win at just 16 years old. While this latest win makes her the oldest woman to win a national title in the history of USA Gymnastics, she’s showing no signs of slowing down soon.
Carlos Alcaraz Makes Wimbledon History
Carlos Alcaraz shocked the world in July when he beat Novak Djokovic, holder of 23 Grand Slams, to take the Wimbledon title at just 20 years old.
This made the Murcia-born athlete the third Spanish player in history to win Wimbledon, and the third-youngest ever to do so. His abilities will be further tested over the next few weeks as he competes at the US Open.

Chip Ganassi Racing Break Records in the Indy 500
With two races left in the season, Chip Ganassi Racing has already made history and is set to see one of its drivers win the 2023 Championship.
The title fight is between Alex Palou and Scott Dixon, who both race for the team and whose points gap is quickly shrinking. Earlier this year, Palou set the fastest pole speed in history with a four-lap average speed of 234.217mph. Not only that, CGR became the first team to win three straight Indy 500 poles in over 25 years. What a year for this team!

Unprecedented Attendance for AEW All In 2023
On Sunday, All Elite Wrestling brought the first major wrestling event (All In) to the UK’s Wembley Arena since WWE’s Summerslam in 1992. Reports indicate that this is the most-attended wrestling event in history, with over 80,000 tickets apparently sold.
A huge accomplishment for the company, this would put All In 2023 ahead of any previously held pro-wrestling event. The crowd saw pro-wrestlers like Saraya and MJF take to the ring, with Saraya winning the AEW Women’s Championship — her first title since being forced into retirement in 2018 following a neck injury. Following the event, AEW President and CEO, Tony Khan revealed that the company plan to return to the UK next year for more.

Max Verstappen Equals Decade-long Record
At his home Grand Prix, F1 world champion Max Verstappen equaled Sebastian Vettel’s record of nine consecutive race wins in a single season.
Verstappen started on pole and, despite a dramatic race, managed to hold on to the top spot to earn his ninth win in a row, and his eleventh of the season. Vettel set the record in 2013 with Red Bull Racing, the same team that Verstappen equaled the record with this weekend.
The Dutch driver is on track to win his third driver’s championship in a row and could overtake Alain Prost and Vettel’s all-time race wins before the end of the season.
