Bruce Springsteen Debuts Slim Dunlap Cover and Talks New Music

January 2, 2025

Bruce Springsteen calls into his SiriusXM channel, E Street Radio (Ch. 20), and talks to host Jim Rotolo about watching Jeremy Allen White play him in his upcoming biopic, “Deliver Me from Nowhere,” and confirms the E Street Band’s new release in 2025.

During the interview, Bruce also remembers solo artist and former Replacements member Slim Dunlap, who passed away on December 18, and premieres the E Street Band’s cover of Slim’s 1996 song “Girlfriend.”

“[Slim] was really a unique guitarist, singer and songwriter, and one of the deepest and truest rock ‘n’ roll souls I’ve ever heard. He has two fabulous solo albums out that I would tell everybody to run out and get,” Bruce says before introducing the song.
