Steph and Warriors are #1 on NBA’s list of jersey and merch sales

Kristaps Porzingis debuted with a big splash on the NBA’s recently released list of its most popular jerseys. “Young Lurch” clocked in at #4 behind such league luminaries as Steph Curry (#1), LeBron James (#2) and some guy named Kobe. More surprising than who he was behind is who Porzingis was ahead of. Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook all were behind the baby-faced Knickerbocker in jersey sales. Durant and Westbrook weren’t the only teammates to crack the top 15 either. Steph’s splash sibling, Klay Thompson was #11, LeBron’s starting point guard, Kyrie Irving, the Bulls’ Jimmy Butler and Carmelo Anthony of the Knicks all also were listed. Small-market franchises, too, had their day as both Paul George of the Indiana Pacers and Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans also are extremely popular with fans looking to buy a jersey.

Not surprisingly, Steph’s team, Golden State, was #1 overall in team merchandise sold between October and the end of December 2015 as well. The Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks rounded out the top five in merchandise sales. Following are lists of the top jerseys and team merchandise.
