Sway’s got Blake Lively’s back after Instagram controversy: ‘If I say you have an Oakland booty, then you have an Oakland booty!’

Blake Lively quoted Sir Mix-A-Lot’s Baby Got Back in an Instagram post demonstrating her derriere in a tight, glittery gold gown, captioning the pic from the Cannes Film Festival red carpet, “L.A. face with an Oakland booty.”
But haters smelled blood in the water, accusing The Shallows star of being racist.
Still, Oakland’s own Sway Calloway defended Lively on-air Tuesday.
“I’m from Oakland, Blake. And if I say you have an Oakland booty, then you have an Oakland booty, damn it!” Calloway said on Sway in the Morning.

“Well, thank you. Thank you for that,” Lively said, giggling. “It’s something I was proud of. I never meant to offend anyone. … But Sir Mix-A-Lot, he actually said a very nice thing, he was very defensive and kind, because it’s just about celebrating women’s bodies, and that’s what I was doing. I would never want to hurt anyone’s feelings or upset anyone. I was celebrating my body. … It’s nice to have a nice curve and not look like you’re starving to death.”
“As you should, and I think all women should shoot for an Oakland booty,” Calloway said, adding that the actress’s message is actually empowering.
“I think it’s important because it sends out the right message to a lot of young ladies, a lot of girls who are coming up and feeling like they have to match everything they see as deemed the most beautiful women in the world and doesn’t necessarily represent them,” he said. “So to see folks who do have curves and celebrate their curves, I think it’s a healthy thing.”
Lively, who is expecting her second child with husband Ryan Reynolds, concluded that she’s not truly the glamazon who graces the covers of fashion magazines.
“It’s also unfair what you see in the media so much,” the 28-year-old said. “What I look like on a red carpet is not what I look like in real life.”
