Good morning! A lot happens in sports, even when you’re not watching, so here are the top headlines and moments from yesterday – in case you missed anything while you were watching the new X-Files.
‘Crying Michael Jordan’ wins again
Of course there’s no bigger news than the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers advancing to the Super Bowl. But you knew that already. What you probably don’t know yet is the awesomeness that ensued on social media during the games. Once again, “Crying Michael Jordan” led the charge:

Props to the Arizona Cardinals’ social media team for accepting defeat:

There was even a sighting of a non-crying Michael Jordan:

A crying Tom Brady made an appearance:

Just for kicks, the Denver Police Department got in on the fun and threw some shade the Patriots’ way:

Royal Rumble highlights
WWE held its Royal Rumble pay-per-view last night and it was … AWESOME! Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens led off the show with an incredible Last Man Standing match for the Intercontinental Championship. Our must-see moments are the two best highlights of the match. Here’s Owens suplexing Ambrose through a table:

And Ambrose recovering, then sending Owens through two tables on the outside to retain his title:

The Royal Rumble match saw the debut of A.J. Styles, arguably one of the best wrestlers to never make a run in the WWE. It had been rumored for weeks that Styles would eventually make his way to the biggest stage of them all, but everyone was surprised to see “The Phenomenal One” as the No.3 entrant. Check out this phenomenal moment:

Other surprises included Sami Zayn returning to a WWE ring after eight months and exacting some revenge on Owens, who had injured Zayn, and Brock Lesnar’s elimination at the hands of Bray Wyatt. Both of these highlights should set up future feuds and possible matches at WrestleMania.
Roman Reigns was forced to defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against 29 other men in the Royal Rumble match. On top of that, Reigns entered at No. 1. It looked like the champ might be able to overcome the odds, but a returning Triple H eliminated Reigns and won the match by eliminating Ambrose.
The Authority always wins.
