Ovi scores No. 500

Washington Capitals star Alexander Ovechkin became the fifth-fastest player in NHL history to score 500 goals in Washington’s 7-1 win over Ottawa. The 30-year-old is the first Russian-born NHL player to ever reach the plateau, doing so in his 801st game which trails Wayne Gretzky (575 games), Mario Lemieux (605), Mike Bossy (647) and Brett Hull (693) as the fastest to reach the 500-goal mark. Crying Michael Jordan wins the Internet

It’s not nice to poke fun at someone else’s misery, but of course the Internet has absolutely zero chill. In the wake of some epic meltdowns over wild-card weekend, Twitter refused to hold anything back.
