Good morning! A lot happens in sports, even when you’re busy doing other non-sports-y stuff. So here are the top headlines and moments from yesterday, in case you missed anything while you were watching the Democratic debate.

More trouble for Johnny Football

Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is once again making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Reports surfaced Thursday that Manziel struck his ex-girlfriend multiple times during an incident on Saturday at the Hotel ZaZa in downtown Dallas. Despite the allegations, no charges have been filed, and both the Fort Worth and Dallas police departments consider their investigations closed.

According to the original report by ABC affiliate WFAA, which cited unnamed sources, Manziel told his ex-girlfriend to “shut up or I’ll kill us both” before forcing her into the car as they left the hotel. TMZ Sports posted a video of Manziel denying the allegations, saying, “It didn’t happen,” and adding, “I’m completely stable, I’m safe and secure.”

It is widely believed that the Browns plan on releasing Manziel in March, the culmination of his history of off-the-field issues. At this point, Manziel has more to worry about than football. At just 23 years old, he needs to get his life in order before he can think about returning to the field.

Ryan Anderson puts Kobe on a poster

Our must-see moment comes from the Lakers’ 99-96 win over the Pelicans. Kobe Bryant had his second straight “Black Mamba”-like performance with 27 points and a season-high 12 rebounds, but unfortunately he found himself on the wrong end of this posterizing dunk by … Ryan Anderson? Stand-in-the-corner-and-jack-up-threes Ryan Anderson? Yes, Ryan Anderson. See for yourself:

Rest in peace, Dave Mirra

A melancholy “happy trails” to X Games legend Dave Mirra, who died Thursday of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police in Greenville, N.C. Mirra, 41, was a BMX pioneer and one of the most decorated athletes in X Games history. He medaled every year from 1995-2008, including 14 gold medals, and his 24 career medals stood as an X Games record until 2013.. Mirra is survived by his wife Lauren and his daughters Mackenzie and Madison.
