Anthony Lynn can barely contain his excitement for his newly acquired backup quarterback, Cardale Jones.
Lynn, in his first year as the Chargers’ head coach, was the catalyst behind the trade that allowed his team to acquire Jones from the Buffalo Bills last week for a conditional draft pick.
Jones joined the Bills last year as a fourth-round pick from Ohio State. Lynn spent most of last season as Buffalo’s offensive coordinator and finished the year as interim head coach after Rex Ryan was fired.
‘He can make every throw’
“First of all, physically, when you look at him, he’s 6-5, 260; he’s a big man,” Lynn told Alex Marvez and Gil Brandt during the SiriusXM NFL Radio training camp tour stop at Chargers camp. “He can make every throw and he’s very articulate and he’s a quick learner. He’s picking up the playbook really well.
“I think the sky’s the limit for this young man.”
