On June 26, the 22nd Annual BET Awards took place at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Hosted by Taraji P. Henson, Silk Sonic won the award for Best Group, Jazmine Sullivan won Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, and Latto won Best New Artist. Sean “Diddy” Combs was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award — by none other than Kanye West, who broke out of his self-proclaimed “little hiatus” to honor Combs. West said, “Back then there was so many rules to hip-hop, and [Combs] broke all of them.”
