Amidst the resting and healing the Seattle Seahawks were able to do during their bye comes some bad news.
Defensive end Cliff Avril has been placed on injured reserve with neck/spine problems resulting from Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett accidentally stepping on his chin during an Oct. 1 game, coach Pete Carroll told Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan on Movin’ The Chains.
‘We’ll figure it out as we go’
“It’s going to take some time for him to deal with his situation,” Carroll said. “We’ll figure it out as we go. Not a definitive situation yet, but it is going to be awhile. We’ve got to give him a while for his neck to clam down and we’ll see how that goes.
Without offering specifics, Carroll said, “Seriously looking at this and it’s a big decision coming up.”
‘He’s just trying to find out exactly what his situation is’
For now, it’s about learning all he can from medical experts to determine the best way to proceed.
“He’s taking in a lot of information right now,” Carroll said. “He’s seeing a lot of doctors. He’s just trying to find out exactly what his situation is and what he can anticipate.”
