Suki Waterhouse Shares Funny Reason She Kept Opening for Taylor Swift a Secret
“I was sort of accommodating tickets for people that I’d never met as well,” she told SiriusXM Hits 1.
Suki Waterhouse revealed to SiriusXM Hits 1 that she couldn’t tell too many people she was opening for Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour because everyone wanted tickets.
“I told like my friends and stuff, yeah, but I didn’t tell too many people because I knew — every single person that I told was like, ‘Oh my God, so I’ll fly to London. I’m going to bring like five or six people,'” Suki said to SiriusXM Hits 1 host Ben Harlum. “You literally have to keep it a secret because everybody wants like 10 tickets, and you don’t have that many. Everybody in the world wants them.”
This past August, Suki — who starred in “Daisy Jones and the Six” — opened for The Eras Tour at London’s Wembley Stadium. In an Instagram caption, she wrote, “The last time I was at Wembley I was dancing my ass off at the Reputation tour! Never did I think the next time I’d be here would be opening for my favourite artist with my friends and family in the crowd.”
Turns out it was friends, family, and a few others.
“It was quite funny, like the day before, I think, my travel agent was emailing me saying he knew someone that hadn’t been able to get a ticket, and it was incredibly important to them, and it was going to ruin their life if they didn’t get a ticket,” Suki said. “I was sort of accommodating tickets for people that I’d never met as well.”
She added, “It was great, but you want to make everyone happy, so, yeah, it was such a wide range of people that ended up coming to the shows. Like, all my family, lots of old friends, and then just like people that just kind of hustled it really hard.”
Suki Waterhouse’s second indie-pop album, “MEMOIR OF A SPARKLEMUFFIN,” is out now. Stream her full SiriusXM Hits 1 “Ben +1” interview on the SiriusXM app.
