Ravens’ C.J. Mosley on rookie Lamar Jackson’s versatility as passer & runner

C.J. Mosley has a good understanding of the challenges opposing defenses face when they go against Lamar Jackson.

As a linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, Mosley saw plenty of Jackson when the rookie quarterback ran the scout-team offense while backing up Joe Flacco.

‘He actually has a good touch throwing the ball’

Mosley expects the 4-7 Atlanta Falcons, who the 6-5 Ravens face Sunday, to get a full dose of Jackson’s multiple talents.

“Now, we don’t see him as much as far as the one defense, but when he was behind Joe, he was always that guy that when the play that didn’t go as planned, he can definitely make a move on his feet, whether it’s running or throwing the ball,” Mosley told Bruce Murray and Brady Quinn on the SiriusXM Blitz. “And he actually has a good touch throwing the ball on the run and so that’s one thing that defenses can’t account for. You think you’ve got him in the pocket and if he gets on scrambles, you think he’s going to run, so guys come up and try to get him.

‘Credit to him on being able to make plays like that’

“And he’ll throw something right behind you. So that’s the credit to him on being able to make plays like that.”
