Benny Blanco Shares the First Time He Really Met Selena Gomez

“The first time we were hanging out, where it was leaning towards that way [romantically], we were both talking about our love lives … And then just before we knew it, it just kind of happened,” Benny Blanco, 36, told SiriusXM Hits 1 of his relationship with Selena Gomez, 31.

Speaking with the hosts of the “Morning Mash Up” show, Benny — who just released his own cookbook, “Open Wide” — also shared that Selena’s mom reminded him that the couple actually met in a professional capacity 16 years ago at the beginning of Selena’s post-Disney music career.

“Neither one of us remembered the meeting,” Benny said, “but her mom remembered it and was just like, ‘Yeah, you guys were 18.'”
