Brady Quinn: Cowboys’ team success overshadows MVP candidates

The Dallas Cowboys look to have two solid candidates for NFL MVP in their dynamic rookie duo of running back Ezekiel Elliott and quarterback Dak Prescott.

The problem with their prospects for the honor, according to Brady Quinn, is that they are on a team whose collective performance to get to 8-1 overshadows any individual accomplishments.

‘It’s tough to discern which guy is playing like an outlier’

“This team right now has the best record in the NFL because of how they’re playing as a team,” Quinn told co-host Bruce Murray on the SiriusXM Blitz. “They’ll probably split votes, but at the end of the day, I almost feel like, as far as the MVP voting and candidacy and all that, it’s so tough to discern which guy is playing like an outlier, that much better than everybody else.

‘At the end of the day, it’s everything’

“And as well as they’re all playing, that would end up hurting them in the MVP voting only because you can’t distinguish what it is. Is it Dak? Is it Zeke? Is it the O-line? What exactly is it? And at the end of the day, it’s everything.

“It’s really a combination of things is why they’re playing so well.”
