The New Orleans Saints’ eight-game winning streak has seen the team excel in all phases.

The Saints have the NFL’s top-ranked offense, with the second-best passing game and third-best rushing attack.

‘Our special-teams unit got them to jump offsides’

It also has been solid on defense and special teams.

“Honestly, I think we’re doing a great job of complementary football,” defensive end Cam Jordan told Steve Torre and Bill Lekas on The Sunday Drive. That was especially true in Sunday’s 34-31 victory against the Washington Redskins.

‘(Complementary football) is something we’re trying to improve at every level’

“Even at one point, when they were close to scoring, kicking a field goal, our special-teams unit got them to jump offsides, pushed them five yards back and knocked them out of field-goal range,” Jordan said. “And we were able to turn that into three points. That was a six-point swing. That’s something we’re trying to improve on at every level.”

The Saints’ defense has greatly appreciated the way the offense has been able to control the ball with the strong rushing duo of Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram.

‘The way they’ve been able to run the ball this year has been tremendous for us’

“Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram and the way that they’ve been able to run the ball this year has been tremendous for us to keep the time battle in our favor,” Jordan said. “And that’s something, when you’re playing complementary football like that, that keeps the defense fresh, that keeps the defense active and let’s us keep playing.”
