When asked about the team dynamics, Fields credited the addition of DJ Moore, a standout wide receiver from the Carolina Panthers, as a significant boost to the Bears’ offense. Fields highlighted Moore’s intelligence and flawless execution of plays, emphasizing the leadership role he brings to the team.

“You’re always looking to have an explosive play downfield. And, you know, he’s smart, he’s coming in, really hasn’t made any mistakes, with the plays and stuff like that,” Fields said. “So, I mean, you know, he brings a certain leadership role to our team, and you’re really just glad we got him. Glad he’s able to be a part of our team.”

The discussion then shifted to the legendary rivalry between the Bears and the Green Bay Packers, a Week 1 matchup that will feature quarterback Jordan Love on the Packers’ side. Fields acknowledged the significance of the rivalry and the team’s focus on preparing for the season opener.

“So, you know, not really sure what they got going over there, but I know we’re just focused on what we have going here and we’re focused on getting better each and every day and, you know, hopefully we can have different results than last year,” Fields said. “So we’re looking forward to playing in Week 1 and getting the season started off the right way.”

When questioned about Cole Kmet, who secured a four-year $50 million contract extension, Justin Fields praised Kmet’s work ethic and highlighted his leadership qualities. In 2022, Cole Kmet generated 544 yards on 50 catches with a career-high seven TDs (after not scoring once in his 2021 season).

Fields said, “He’s always coming in the building in the same way. Always energetic, always, you know, attentive, ready to learn, and really just ready to get better.” He continued, “So, I’m glad he was able to get that done, and you know, glad to have him here for however many years he signed for, but I’m happy for him and his family.”
