On my LIVE show Saturday of this Memorial Day weekend we will be honoring the service of the women and men who are serving, or have served, in the U.S. military. Plus comedian Negin Farsad, author of the must read new book How to Make White People Laugh joins me to co-host the second hour of the show.
Did you know there are approximately 6,000 Muslims serving in the U.S. military? The highest ranking Muslim American currently in the U.S. military, Colonel Nashid A. Salahuddin of the United States Air Force, will join me to discuss Muslims serving in our Armed Forces. In fact Muslims have served in our military since George Washington led our troops in the Revolutionary War, including people like Bampett Muhammad of Virginia and Boston’s Peter Buckminster, who fired the shot that killed British Major General John Pitcairn at the Battle of Bunker Hill.
22 veterans commit suicide every day – which is double the national average. Allison Jaslow a former army captain and currently chief of staff of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) will bring us up to date on the needs of our veterans and what is being done to reduce this alarming suicide rate.
Is there a secret to making white people laugh? Well, comedian Negin Farsad thinks so. She’s the author of the hilarious new book “How to Make White People Laugh” and she will join me to co-host the second hour of the show.
You are my guest. In this segment, you, the SiriusXM listener are my guest. On Saturday’s show we talk:
Do Donald Trump’s sexist comments about women or Bill Clinton’s affairs from years ago matter to voters? Last week former Miss Universe Alicia Machado told the media that in 1996 when she won Trump’s Miss Universe contest he publicly humiliated her by calling her “Miss Piggy” after she gained weight and “Miss Housekeeping” because she had a Spanish accent. Plus this week Trump turned up his attacks on Bill Clinton’s alleged sexual misconduct in the 1990’s despite the fact Trump defended Bill for years, as I noted in my CNN article. Do these issues from the 1990’s impact your decision on how you will vote in November?
Hope you not only tune in to my LIVE show, but join the conversation at 877-974-7487. I want to hear what you think about these issues, plus join us for our weekly “Ask A Muslim” a question segment.
My show airs live every Saturday at 10 am to noon ET on SiriusXM Insight (Ch 121) and repeats several times over the weekend. It is also available On Demand.
