Home: Louisville Cardinals

The Cardinals are on a quest to reach a 7-1 overall record, reminiscent of their impressive 2016 season when they started with a remarkable 9-1 before finishing at 9-4. Their home field dominance is undeniable, as they seek their ninth consecutive home win, following a recent victory over Notre Dame.

Linebacker TJ Quinn has been a standout, leading the team with 55 tackles, including a career-best 12 in their recent game against Pitt. Quarterback Jack Plummer has been delivering impressive performances, including two 300-yard passing games this season. Wide receiver Jamari Thrash has been a key asset, amassing 17 receptions for 195 yards and a touchdown in the last two games.

The Cardinals’ defense has stood tall, allowing a mere 317.9 yards of offense in their seven games. In fact, they’ve held their last three opponents to under 300 yards of total offense.

Away: Duke Blue Devils

Duke, currently ranked 16th, experienced a tough 38-20 loss to Florida State last week, marking their second defeat of the season against nationally ranked opponents.

Running back Jaquez Moore made an impact last week, rushing for a career-best 110 yards with a touchdown. Quarterback Riley Leonard, despite battling injuries, has showcased his skills this season, throwing for 981 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 339 yards and four scores. Duke also boasts talented receivers in Jalon Calhoun and Jordan Moore, both with over 25 catches and 300+ receiving yards.

Duke’s defense ranks third in the ACC by allowing just 315.9 yards per game. They excel in pass defense, yielding a mere 179.4 yards through the air, a statistic that places them 15th nationally.
