Tyler Eifert understands that the Cincinnati Bengals’ 3-4-1 record doesn’t exactly put them on a fast track for the postseason.
But the Bengals’ tight end also doesn’t see any reason the team, which is in third place in the AFC North, should be counted out of playoff contention.
‘Still not in a bad spot’
“I don’t think anybody would tell you it’s where we want to be, but it could be worse and everything we want is still in front of us with where we’re at in the division and things like that,” Eifert told Alex Marvez and Gil Brandt on Late Hits. “So I’d say it’s not where we want to be, but with all things considered we’re still not in a bad spot. And we’ve just got to keep moving forward, working hard.
‘It’s a long season and we realize that’
“It’s a long season and we realize that. We got off to a good start last year and then didn’t finish, so it doesn’t matter where your losses come.
“But if you can finish the season strong, it always gives you a good chance to make the playoffs and make a run in the playoffs.”
