When the Indianapolis Colts began the season 1-5, they weren’t filled with hopelessness and despair.
In fact, it was quite the opposite.
‘It’s a lot of belief, a lot of trust and a lot of hard work’
Tight end Eric Ebron saw a team with the capacity to not only pull itself out of that hole, but also achieve bigger and better things — such as Sunday night’s 33-17 victory against the Tennessee Titans that allowed the Colts to secure a wild-card playoff spot.
“Day-in and day-out, every practice, every rep, everything. And you get to the point to where you are now.”
“It’s been a hell of a journey,” Ebron told Zig Fracassi and Brad Hopkins on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “It’s a lot of belief, a lot of trust and a lot of hard work. Day-in and day-out, every practice, every rep, everything. And you get to the point to where you are now.”
‘Andrew’s just, man, he’s a conductor’
That the Colts have suffered only one loss since their last defeat, Oct. 14 against the New York Jets, is a tribute to not only that belief and trust, but also to the play of quarterback Andrew Luck. His amazing comeback from shoulder surgery has inspired, while his play — he threw three touchdown passes against the Titans — has dazzled.
“Andrew’s just, man, he’s a conductor,” said Ebron, who had one of those scores among his four receptions. “He makes everything happen. He reminds us that it’s just one play. You know, ‘Live for this play.’
‘A true leader, a true captain, and it’s just great playing with him’
“He makes it so much easier for the rest of us inside the huddle. A true leader, true captain, and it’s just great playing with him.”
