Micah Hyde says Bills are ‘ready to get on that roll and make a push for the playoffs’
To listen to safety Micah Hyde, the 5-3 Bills are right where they need to be entering Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

Nothing about the Buffalo Bills’ 34-21 loss against the New York Jets in Week 9 said the team on the wrong end of the lopsided score looked like a playoff contender.
The Bills were terrible in every phase. They didn’t block, they didn’t tackle, they didn’t make plays.
‘It starts from the top down, the coaches to the players, and we have been really buying in’
Yet, to listen to safety Micah Hyde, the 5-3 Bills are right where they need to be entering Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
“Midseason, the weather’s turning, we’re ready to get on that roll and make a push for the playoffs,” Hyde told Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan on Movin’ the Chains. “It just starts off with (coach) Sean (McDermott), it starts off from the top down, the coaches to the players, and we have been really buying in. As you can see, we really try to show that on the football field.”
‘We just missed too many tackles and missing tackles is just all about effort’
Well, they were doing a much better job of that until their second game of the season against the Jets. The Bills’ defense, in particular, did a horrible job of tackling.
“Not a lot of effort,” Hyde said. “That’s what it came down to. We just missed too many tackles and missing tackles is just all about effort. We didn’t have it that night.
‘I’d be lying to you if I said no defense in the NFL’s going to go through that’
“We still consider ourselves a very good defense. We have that confidence that we’re able to get takeaways and frustrate opposing offenses. Just a little bump in the road, just a little hiccup. I think I’d be lying to you if I said no defense in the NFL’s going to go through that, because everybody does. It’s tough. We’re not making any excuses. We got beat straight-up. We watched the film, learned from it and time to move on.”
