IT’S THE MOST BEARD-IFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! (sing with me!)

We are beard-deep into No Shave November, razor-free for weeks, and we can’t stop now! November is soon coming to an end but our beards don’t have to. If you missed any November advice, just hop in a time machine to review…or SCROLL DOWN.

It’s still me, Mike ‘Babs’ Babchik. And while this is our last advice column post of November 2020, you can always check me out every weekday on Morning Men on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio, along with my friend, Evan Cohen.

BEARDCARE TIP: WITH GREAT BEARD COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY
Your weeks of beard growing have paid off, and if you’ve followed our tips, your beard should be coming along great and feeling its best. Soon enough, around grow-week #8, you can start trimming and shaping. CREMO Beard Balm can help you style, shape and control, plus keep your beard looking shiny and healthy. Now all you have to do is stick to your routine, maintain and Beard Boldly every day. For more beardcare tips & product recommendations, check out @cremocompany.

HEALTH TIP: STRESS-LESS HOLIDAY
Sometimes the holidays can be stressful – dinner prep, decorating, guest lists, clean up, etc. Perhaps now is the time to try something new. Here’s a few options (1) So You Think You Can Cook Virtual Competition. Have someone Emcee, blast music during clock-timed challenges (chopping ingredients, salad prep, etc.), conduct TV show trivia during cook time, and then big reveal final dishes. Let your ‘in-house’ teams be the judges. (2) Host a ‘Digital Dinner Party’ with virtual charades and Karaoke. (3) Or schedule a ‘Virtual Watch Party’ to watch your favorite holiday movie. The best thing? You can invite as many people as you want without having to clean up later!

USE YOUR BEARDS FOR GOOD – GIVE BACK!
This holiday season, learn more about great causes…cancer research, wish foundations for kids & adults, local health clinics, and donate money you typically spend on monthly grooming – THEN DOUBLE IT!

FROM MY BEARD TO YOURS – HAPPY BEARDS-GIVING!!! – Babs

A LOOK BACK ON WEEK 4:

IT’S BEARD SEASON!

If you missed last week’s No Shave November advice, just go back in time or SCROLL DOWN!

During No Shave November, millions of men help spread awareness about men’s health by sharing their stories, great advice and NOT SHAVING! Over the years, my SiriusXM Sports colleagues and I have competed in SiriusXM and CREMO’s Best Beard Challenges. And, as the 3-Peat Best Beard Challenge Champ I’m here to offer you a little beard advice…

I’m Mike ‘Babs’ Babchik and when I’m not offering beardcare advice, I co-host Morning Men on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio, along with my clean-shaven friend, Evan Cohen.

From @Bubba_FAL: I enjoy eating soup, chili and other sauce filled foods, but I struggle with getting remnants in my beard while eating. Advice?

BABS: Food in a beard is a sign of a good meal! You might find some great snacks later. But seriously, don’t overload your spoon or fork. The food will still be there! And, keep a wet facecloth nearby. Dry paper napkins just add to the mess.

CREMO: Beards attract dirt and grime. They’re practically magnets for food crumbs and oils. They need regular washing, but using the wrong product can over-strip and dry out the sensitive skin underneath. CREMO All-in-One Beard Wash is specifically formulated to thoroughly cleanse beard and skin without drying. It’s tough enough to tackle facial hair at its filthiest, yet gentle enough for everyday use.

THIS WEEK’S BEARDCARE TIP: DON’T SHY AWAY FROM A LITTLE PATCHWORK

If your beard is looking patchy, which is normal, it’s time to introduce a thickening regimen. CREMO Thickening Cream and Thickening Beard Wash are designed to help your beard reach its fullest potential. And like all of CREMO’s Barber Grade Beard Products, these are designed specifically for the unique requirements of coarse facial hair. For more beardcare tips & product recommendations, check out @cremocompany.

HEALTH TIP: GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO TAKE A BREAK
Knocking off once in a while to play indoor golf, video games or watch TV aren’t just fun ideas – they’re best practices to help keep stress at bay. Look for additional ways to get some “you” time, like listening to audiobooks and podcasts on your drive to work or while walking the dog.  AND, use your break time to learn more about great causes such as local health clinics, cancer research, or wish foundations for kids and adults, and donate the money you typically spend on monthly grooming (then double it!).

A LOOK BACK ON WEEK 3:

It’s still No Shave November so keep social distancing from that razor!  If you missed last week’s advice, just scroll down. We’ll be here when you get back…

From @JohnPaulFal: How does wearing a mask affect beard maintenance?

BABS:  Ah, yes, I had to find a much larger mask for my quarantine beard!  But, for your question, I had to ask for an assist from my friends at CREMO

CREMO: Hygiene is always important, even before the pandemic. Now though, it is more important than ever to keep your beard healthy and well maintained. Constantly putting on and adjusting your mask will cause the skin and beard more abrasion than in normal times. This could create additional problems, like beard itch, and beard dandruff. It is important to keep your beard hydrated and clean, by using a beard wash and softener to keep it feeling its best.

THIS WEEK’S BEARDCARE TIP: What To Expect When You’re Expecting…A BEARD

Your beard is getting longer, and possibly itchier. That’s because the skin underneath is getting dry and flakey. It’s important to keep both your facial hair and the skin underneath hydrated. CREMO has products that do just that.   And please avoid trimming. It’ll be worth it, for a fuller, thicker looking beard. When drying your hair at this length, be sure to pat it dry with a towel or use a hair dryer on low heat. Rubbing it can cause damage and may even make your hair break and fall out. For more beardcare tips & product recommendations, check out @cremocompany.

HEALTH TIP: FUN PEOPLE HAVE TO SLEEP SOMETIMES
According to the National Sleep Foundation, adequate sleep for adults is between 7 and 9 hours a night.    Sleep helps the body repair, regenerate, and recover.  It enables the body to be fit and ready for another day.  Getting adequate rest may also help prevent excess weight gain, heart disease, and increased illness duration.

A LOOK BACK ON WEEK 2:

It’s officially No Shave November!  If you missed last week’s advice, just scroll to the bottom to catch up. When you get back…let the beard games begin!

During No Shave November, millions of men help spread awareness about men’s health by sharing their stories, great advice and NOT SHAVING! Over the years, my SiriusXM Sports colleagues and I have competed in SiriusXM and CREMO’s Best Beard Challenges. But this year, as the 3-Peat Best Beard Challenge Champ, I’m here to offer you a little beard advice…

If you don’t know me…I’m Mike ‘Babs’ Babchik.  When I’m not offering beardcare advice, I co-host Morning Men on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio with my clean-shaven friend, Evan Cohen.

From @UncleLeonardFal:  As a 3-time champion how many times do you use CREMO to not have dry skin?

Babs Advice: I use CREMO all the time so no dry skin here. In fact, my face is as smooth as my baby’s bottom! But, here’s what CREMO has to say…

CREMO Advice: Everyday elements can be tough on a man’s skin. Give your skin a welcomed recharge with our enriched face moisturizer, formulated to Barber Grade standards. The unique formula combats daily damage with skin-nourishing vitamins and ingredients with restorative properties.  Check out @cremocompany for more tips on how to put your best face forward.

THIS WEEK’S BEARDCARE TIP: Don’t Sweat The Small SCRUFF

It’s early November and you’re likely at the stubble or scruff stage. Regular cleaning and exfoliating is still vital because your facial hair is now a magnet for dirt, food and dead skin. To keep it clean, use real Face Wash, NOT a bar of soap. Our friends at CREMO hav

e great face wash and softeners for this ‘baby beard’ phase.  For more beardcare tips and products, check out @cremocompany.

HEALTH TIP: TALK THE TALK, WALK THE WALK!
Genetics play an important role in beard growth rate, but there are also factors such as lifestyle choices – diet, exercise, stress levels, etc. – that can enhance or hinder your beard’s growth. You don’t have to go boot-camp-workout crazy to stay active.  Just add a brisk walk to your routine.  Walk alone or grab a friend.  If it’s too cold, walk in a nearby mall or home improvement store – those aisles are crazy long!  Feel free to reward yourself with a new set of tools!

A LOOK BACK ON WEEK 1:
Does your partner hide your razors in silent protest because they don’t want you to shave your face? Confused by words like face balm, oil or cream? Got questions about beard goals? Then you’ve come to the right place!

During No Shave November, millions of men grow beards. For some, it’s business as usual, but for me and many others, beard growth is a lot more intentional. To help spread awareness about men’s health over the years, my SiriusXM Sports colleagues and I have competed for the CREMO Crown in SiriusXM and CREMO’s Best Beard Challenges. And, NOW, I’m the 3-Peat Best Beard Challenge Champ!

I’m Mike Babchik, but everyone calls me ‘Babs.’ I’m also the host of Morning Men on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio, along with my smooth and clean-shaven friend and co-host, Evan Cohen.

Heavy is the head that wears the CREMO Crown. And I wear it SOOO well! So this year, SiriusXM, CREMO & I will lead YOU, my loyal subjects, in a new era of No Shave November with our FIRST advice column built for a King…

THIS WEEK’S TIP FROM THE CREMO BEARD KING: Start with a Clean Shave

In life, we all start out naked.  To commit to beard life, your face must also start bare.  To get your face beard-ready you need to shave! Clean skin encourages hair follicles to grow.   So keep it clean and exfoliate regularly.  Yeah, I said exfoliate.  Look it up!  And no more bar soap!  Use a real face wash and moisturizer.  For more beardcare tips, check out @cremocompany.

HEALTH TIP: LET’S GET PHYSICALS!

Yes, I CAN hear the Olivia Newton-John echo.  Sorry about that, but seriously, regular preventive health exams can provide early disease detection, when your chances for treatment and cures are better.  So, schedule a check-up today!
