Pete Pistone will unveil Power Rankings each week of the NASCAR season. Check out this week’s edition of the NASCAR Power Rankings below, and listen to SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Ch. 90) on the SiriusXM app and web player now.
1. TYLER REDDICK

He tried his best to run down eventual Chicago race winner Bowman but after making contact with the inside wall it ended any hopes of racing for the win. Reddick finish second on Sunday and has been inside the first three finishers the last two weeks and has four top-five finishes in the last six races.

Last Week: 4th

2. CHRISTOPHER BELL

Finishing has been difficult for Bell of late even when he clearly has one of the better cars in the field as he did Sunday in Chicago. He led 14 laps but a late race incident slid him back to an official finish of 37th.

Last Week: 3rd

3. KYLE LARSON

The up and down finishes continue for Larson even on days when he has a fast car. That was the case in Chicago but after he locked up his brakes and went hard into the tire barriers, Larson left Chicago with a very disappointing 39th place finish.

Last Week: 1st

4. RYAN BLANEY

It’s been a decent stretch for Blaney over the recent stretch of races. The defending Cup Series champion now has four top-10 finishes in the last five races, which includes his win at Iowa Speedway on Father’s Day.

Last Week: 6th

5. CHASE ELLIOTT

A victim of contact on the final lap cost Elliott what would have been a much better finish than the 21st he was credited with in Chicago, marking the first time the Hendrick Motorsports driver has finished outside the top 20 all season long.

Last Week: 2nd

6. ALEX BOWMAN

The 80-race winless drought is over after Bowman used some tire strategy and hard driving to take the checkered flag in the Grant Park 165. The finish also gave Bowman his 11th top-10 finish this season.

Last Week: NR

7. CHRIS BUESCHER

The Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing driver was a pre-race favorite to contend in Chicago but it was a challenging day for the No. 17 team. Buescher took the checkered flag in 20th on Sunday and Buescher has the final Playoff spot now heading to Pocono.

Last Week: 7th

8. WILLIAM BYRON

Getting back on track after falling off the radar in recent weeks. Byron’s came home eighth in Chicago and the Hendrick Motorsports driver has four top-10 performances over the last eight races.

Last Week: NR

9. DENNY HAMLIN

The No. 11 team has hit a very rough patch here in mid-summer. Hamlin’s 30th place Chicago finish put him out of the top-10 for the fifth straight race. In four of those last five the Joe Gibbs Racing driver has been 24th or worse.

Last Week: 4th

10. BRAD KESELOWSKI

Not the best day for Keselowski who had a few moments of good as well as many more of the “oh well” variety in Chicago.

Last Week: 8th

Dropped Out: Ross Chastain, Joey Logano
