Donald Trump’s Election Certification

On January 6, in accordance with the 12th Amendment, federal lawmakers counted the Electoral College votes and formally announced Trump as the next president. Trump will be sworn in at his inauguration on Monday, January 20.

Trump’s opponent in the 2024 presidential election, Vice President Kamala Harris, presided over Trump’s certification after she visited Capitol Hill to swear in senators on Friday.
