As moves at the NFL trading deadline go, the one that sent safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix from the Green Bay Packers to the Washington Redskins is generating some buzz in the nation’s capital.

Defensive end Jonathan Allen, for one, thinks the Redskins’ defense is going to see a major boost from Clinton-Dix, who joined the team in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick.

‘I know he’s going to be a guy who’s going to come in and contribute Day One, honestly’

“I know, from a mentality aspect, what he brings and I know he’s going to be a guy who’s going to come in and contribute Day One, honestly,” Allen told Brian Custer and Bill Polian on Late Hits.

Clinton-Dix entered the NFL in 2014 as the 21st overall pick of the draft. In 2016, he had five interceptions and 79 tackles, which earned him a Pro Bowl berth. This season, he has registered 27 tackles, three interceptions, a sack and a forced fumble.

‘You’re going to see an impact of what he can do for this team’

Allen is fully expecting Clinton-Dix’s presence to be felt during Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons at FedEx Field.

“This next game, you’re going to see an impact of what he can do for this team,” Allen said. “What that role will be, I’m not sure, but I know he’ll have the role on the defense immediately.”
